Umpqua’s IPX team, (Innovation, Product and Experience), hired me to bring UX and product design expertise in-house. Like a small agency of experts, the IPX team led workshops that drove product roadmaps, and supported Umpqua’s internal and vendor applications. Through research, discovery and design, I translated Umpqua’s business needs into cohesive user experiences, for both customer and associate, mobile and desktop apps, by supporting multiple product teams, and establishing Umpqua’s digital foundation.

TigerStop has 10 products with 100,000+ configuration options which was overwhelming for both the sales team and customer, and was slowing the sales cycle. TigerStop asked for a customer facing configurator tool that would help educate and streamline the sales process. I worked with TigerStop stakeholders to define the experience–creating a design that worked on desktop and mobile, that included: configuration assistant, visual CAD renderings, ROI calculator, and a Quote Request form. TigerStop is happy with the results of their new comprehensive configurator, because it’s creating better product awareness by educating both the sales team and customers, creating a self service funnel, which is increasing sales of accessories, and ultimately building brand loyalty.

The real estate development company, Killian Pacific, wanted a company website to showcase their portfolio of award winning projects, and their value commitment to the community, but they had nothing more than a word mark logo and project photos. We got resourceful and built an interactive brand experience from the ground up that embodied the craftsmanship and details of their commitment to design and the community. The responsive website is a masterpiece of grid layout, with micro animations, smooth transitions, and surprising content reveals that bring the brand to life and keep you engaged wanting more. The new website puts their projects, people and values on full display helping to build a positive reputation within the community, attract new talent to their team, and won the hearts of the design industry with an AWWWARDS recognition for the interactive experience.

A new surveillance drone was an exciting product design challenge that involved flight maps and camera control GUI with drone and tablet technology. Working with the engineering team, I helped define the core requirements, prototype different configurations, and designed a fast, concise and instinctive UI, which was key to the success of this product.

The Freightliner Sales Tool app simplifies the sales process through a variety of interactive ROI calculators, truck configurations, and directory of marketing assets, helping to close the deal during the sales process. I helped architect and design the interactive iOS app experience. The success of this app in the United States market, lead to the creation of another Freightliner Sales tool app for Mexico.

Pop Art is a renowned interactive agency building their own SaaS product, and they needed a website refresh to showcase their expertise of creative software development, design, and user experience for leading manufacturing and technology companies. I helped extract their company values into brand pillars and translate that into a unique interactive experience, with beautiful micro animations and navigational transitions that made it feel smooth like butter. #DigitalGoodness. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to work with the development team to help shepherd the vision, which had tragic results.

Helping the world's largest producer of specialty dried fruits reenvision the way they distribute their product samples to food scientists working in commercial food labs. I created a new labeling system and interactive web experience allowing food scientists to easily browse, add to cart, and order samples for their next commercial food product. The new design makes the browsing and requesting product samples quicker, easier and more enjoyable, helping Meduri Farms close the sales loop faster.

Nordic's successful launch of the Thingy:52 and beta nRF Cloud web app needed an interface to help onboard and bring a powerful cloud-based platform to a new class of IoT entrepreneurs, unlocking new opportunities previously out of reach. Working with the hardware engineers we created an interface that allowed their support team to manage customer profiles and engage the nRF Cloud app to help this new class graduate from idea-makers to prototype-builders. The admin dashboard design successfully provided the Nordic team with the architecture and visual direction to continue building out their new IoT software app and support their customers.

Parkzilla is the Airbnb of parking–connecting drivers with individuals and business that have a parking space to rent. The app was designed for iOS, and Android, allowing people to market their open parking space, apply time and rate details, and process payment transactions, as well as help drivers find parking in difficult parking locations. The project missed the mark of market demand and failed to find investors for future development.

Pop Art needed a lobby entrance design that would impress clients and inspire employees–so I designed a custom Lichtenstein inspired wall paper pattern that covered a 24’ wall. Then painted the remaining walls with a bright blue (almost cyan) paint, that helps to lead your eye through the lobby space. The design extends itself onto the glass conference room doors with frosted vinyl graphics (VAROOM!, BLAM!, KABOOM!), that label the different rooms. For the Pop Art logo signage, I selected a raised white acrylic lettering to make it pop off the blue wall. The new design created a sense of energy and excitement that both clients and employees felt when they entered the space.
